Meet the author behind our weather stories

Matthew Jones is a national Emmy award winning meteorologist and science communicator with over a decade of experience in local and national news. He has a passion for communicating the weather to the public and always looking for a better way to tell the weather story.

Matthew lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife, sons and dog Doppler. He first created My Weather Book: Tornado Safety to help start a conversation with his kids about how to stay safe during tornadoes. Through this story, he hopes other parents and teachers can have conversations with their kids about how to stay safe during severe storms.
